Lisa Lopes was a singer, rapper, dancer, and actress. She was best known as a member of the girl group TLC, which sold over 65 million records worldwide. Lopes was also a successful solo artist, releasing two albums and several singles. She was known for her powerful voice, her outspoken personality, and her commitment to social justice.

Lopes was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on May 27, 1971. She began singing in church at a young age, and she later studied dance and theater. In 1990, she met Tionne Watkins and Rozonda Thomas, and the three of them formed TLC. The group's debut album, "Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip," was released in 1992 and went quadruple platinum. TLC went on to release four more albums, all of which were certified platinum or higher.

In addition to her work with TLC, Lopes also had a successful solo career. She released her debut solo album, "Supernova," in 1997. The album was a critical and commercial success, and it spawned the hit single "Not Tonight." Lopes released her second solo album, "The Eye of the Tiger," in 2001.

Lopes was also an outspoken advocate for social justice. She spoke out against racism, sexism, and homophobia. She also worked to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS and other health issues.

Lopes died in a car accident in Honduras on April 25, 2002. She was 30 years old.
