About The Author

Lawrence S. Ritter was a sportswriter and historian who wrote extensively about baseball. He is best known for his book The Glory Of Their Times, which was published in 1966.

Ritter was born in New York City in 1918. He began his writing career as a sports reporter for the New York Post. In the 1950s, he began writing books about baseball, including The American Baseball Encyclopedia and The Glory Of Their Times.

Ritter died in 2014 at the age of 95.
