Ryan's childhood was marked by poverty and violence. He dropped out of school at a young age and began working as a petty thief. By the time he was a teenager, Ryan was involved in more serious crimes, including robbery and assault.

Rise to Power

In the 1940s, Ryan joined a gang of criminals known as the "Cootes Paradise Gang." The gang was involved in a variety of criminal activities, including extortion, robbery, and murder.

Ryan quickly rose through the ranks of the Cootes Paradise Gang. He was known for his ruthlessness and his willingness to use violence to get what he wanted. In 1944, Ryan became the leader of the gang.

Under Ryan's leadership, the Cootes Paradise Gang became one of the most powerful criminal organizations in Canada. The gang controlled a large share of the illegal gambling and bootlegging trade in Toronto.

Downfall

Ryan's reign of terror came to an end in 1948, when he was arrested for murder. He was convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

Ryan spent the rest of his life in prison. He died in 1985 at the age of 65.
