Stay Alive, My Son is a powerful and moving memoir of Pin Yathay, a Cambodian survivor of the Khmer Rouge regime. This gripping account of survival and triumph is a must-read for anyone interested in history, Cambodia, or the human spirit.

A Survivor's Story

Pin Yathay was born in Cambodia in 1951. His childhood was idyllic, filled with happy memories of his family and friends. But in 1975, the Khmer Rouge came to power, and everything changed. The Khmer Rouge was a brutal communist regime that ruled Cambodia from 1975 to 1979. During this time, an estimated 2 million people were killed, including Pin Yathay's parents and siblings.

Pin Yathay was forced to work in a labor camp, where he was subjected to torture and starvation. He witnessed firsthand the horrors of the Khmer Rouge regime, including the mass executions and the forced separation of families.

Despite the unimaginable horrors he experienced, Pin Yathay never gave up hope. He clung to the belief that he would one day be free. And in 1979, the Vietnamese army invaded Cambodia and overthrew the Khmer Rouge regime. Pin Yathay was finally able to escape.

A Journey of Redemption

After escaping from Cambodia, Pin Yathay settled in the United States. He eventually became a successful businessman and a respected member of his community. But he never forgot the horrors he had witnessed during the Khmer Rouge regime.

In 1997, Pin Yathay returned to Cambodia for the first time since his escape. He was determined to find out what happened to his family and to help the Cambodian people rebuild their lives.

Pin Yathay's journey back to Cambodia was a difficult one. He was confronted with the memories of his past and the challenges of the present. But he never gave up hope. He eventually found out what happened to his family and he dedicated his life to helping the Cambodian people.

A Must-Read for Everyone
