The Story

The film opens with a group of bandits raiding a village. The villagers are helpless to stop the bandits, and they are forced to give up their food and possessions. Desperate, the villagers decide to hire samurai to protect them. They travel to a nearby town and hire seven samurai: Kambei Shimada (Takashi Shimura),Gorobei Katayama (Isao Kimura),Shichiroji (Daisuke Katō),Kyuzo (Seiji Miyaguchi),Heihachi Hayashida (Minoru Chiaki),Kikuchiyo (Toshiro Mifune),and Katsushiro Okamoto (Ko Kimura).

The samurai arrive at the village and begin to train the villagers to defend themselves. The villagers are initially reluctant to trust the samurai, but they eventually come to respect them. The samurai also come to respect the villagers, and they begin to see them as friends.

When the bandits return to the village, the samurai are ready for them. The battle that follows is one of the most epic and thrilling in cinema history. The samurai fight bravely, but they are outnumbered and outgunned. In the end, only three of the samurai survive the battle. However, they have successfully protected the village, and they have earned the respect of the villagers.

The Characters
