My Entebbe Personal Diary Book Cover My Entebbe: A Personal Diary

In the annals of military history, the raid on Entebbe stands as a daring and successful mission. On July 4, 1976, a team of Israeli commandos stormed Entebbe Airport in Uganda, rescuing 102 hostages who had been taken captive by Palestinian terrorists. The mission was a remarkable display of courage, precision, and teamwork.

My Entebbe Personal Diary is a firsthand account of the raid by one of the soldiers who took part in it. The author, Yonatan Netanyahu, was the commander of the Sayeret Matkal unit that carried out the mission. In his diary, Netanyahu provides a detailed and gripping account of the planning and execution of the raid, from the initial intelligence gathering to the final assault on the airport.

Netanyahu's diary is a fascinating and貴重な historical document. It offers a unique perspective on one of the most daring and successful military missions of all time. The diary is also a powerful reminder of the courage and sacrifice of the soldiers who took part in the raid.

Excerpt from the Diary

"We arrived at Entebbe Airport at 11:30 pm. The airport was dark and silent. We could hear the sound of the hostages crying. We knew that we had to act quickly and quietly.

We split up into two teams. One team would secure the control tower and the other team would rescue the hostages. I led the team that went to rescue the hostages.

We moved through the airport, clearing each room one by one. We encountered some resistance from the terrorists, but we were able to quickly overwhelm them. We found the hostages in a small room at the back of the airport.

The hostages were overjoyed to see us. They had been held captive for over a week and they were terrified. We quickly led them out of the airport and to safety."
