About the Author
John Lewis (1940-2020) was an American civil rights leader and politician. He served as a U.S. Representative for Georgia's 5th congressional district from 1987 until his death in 2020. Lewis was a key figure in the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 1960s, and he continued to fight for social justice throughout his life.
Nate Powell is an American cartoonist and illustrator. He is best known for his work on the March trilogy, which he created with John Lewis. Powell has also worked on other graphic novels, including The Silence of Our Friends and Swallow Me Whole.
